Horowitz Research, a leading cultural insights and market research firm, is searching for a Cultural Insights Research Associate. This is an entry-level to intermediate position for people starting out or just growing in their careers in market research.

The Research Associate will work with Project Managers and Associate Project Managers on all tasks and aspects of an assigned market research project and is involved from start to finish. Research tasks could include copyediting proposals and reports, vendor procurement and management, project scheduling, questionnaire checking and programming, checking data tabulations for accuracy, analysis of primary and secondary data, creating charts and graphs, and preparing PowerPoint presentations, among others. There are opportunities for advancement to Project Manager for qualified individuals.
The ideal candidate will be able to work independently but also be comfortable working as part of a team. Candidates must be detail-oriented, be able to multitask, be a self-starter, and be a fast learner. We are a small office, so we are looking for someone who is not only the right fit for the position but also the right fit for the office. Though we keep busy, we enjoy spending time with each other when we can and are friends, not just co-workers.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university. While not a requirement, degrees or coursework in anthropology, sociology, psychology, social justice, critical race theory, gender studies, and/or cultural studies are preferred.
- Quantitatively-oriented with strong math/numbers and analytical skills
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written skills
- Organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated and able to meet deadlines a must
- Pro-active, must be a team player and be able to work with a wide range of personalities
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Not required, but a definite plus:
- Previous market research experience
- Experience with statistical, programming, and cross-tabulation software/programs
- Written and verbal fluency in Spanish or Mandarin
- A creative eye, with skills in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and/or other graphics programs
Compensation is commensurate with experience.
