Job Description

Workday’s mission is to put people at the center of enterprise software. The Design team at Workday is directly responsible for understanding who the users of our product are, aligning teams around users and their needs and designing experiences that make work better for people.

Research at Workday is entering a new chapter. The Research Strategy team is a new, small group of researchers from diverse backgrounds that works to identify the problems for Workday to solve in the future while asking challenging questions about where we are going, using human-centered research. We do this through mixed methods, including deep ethnographic engagement with our users, identifying edge cases and gaps in our knowledge, quantitative data and experimental techniques, incorporating cutting-edge academic and industry research and through engaging story-telling techniques and thought leadership. We identify senior stakeholders throughout the organization, collaborate with them and inform their decisions about where Workday should prioritize its efforts in the future.

Our team works on current and future efforts. It partners with existing design teams and initiatives to inform and steer research roadmaps and design strategy and surface new opportunities. It also works several releases ahead of the development cycle to discover the unmet user needs we might leverage for opportunities in the future. We work across Workday with other R&D and strategy teams to align Research Strategy with company priorities and fill blind spots.

We are looking for a driven Sr Research Strategist to develop and help drive the best design and research practices for ML enabled experiences at Workday.

Workday is committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace and applicants from communities that are traditionally underrepresented in tech are especially encouraged to apply.

Our commitment to inclusion, belonging, and equity for all is why we’re ranked #4 Fortune’s Best Places to Work, #12 on Fortune’s Best Workplaces for Diversity and #24 on Fortune’s Best Workplaces for Women.
